The Person I Respect

The person I respect is Jielun Zhou. His English name is Jay Chou. He was born in China Taiwan in January 18, 1979.  Now he is one of the most revolutionary and unique creative singer and composer in Asia music circles. He has created 10 albums and their total sales are more than 27,000,000. So he is called ‘the king of Asia popular music’. I started to listen to his music when I was a junior school student and now I like his songs very much, too. There are a lot of reasons that so many people love him and his music.

He had really worked hard before he became well-known. In September 1997, he participated in a TV show called ‘Super New King’ in China Taiwan and was signed with Zongxian Wu. But nobody liked his music at that time. So Zongxian Wu told him that he would help him to publish an album if he could create 50 songs during 10 days in February 1999. Then after 10 days hard working, Jay created 50 songs and succeeded to publish his first album called ‘Jay Chou’, just as his name. And every year he published an album. He uses his successful experience to tell us that if you have a dream then you should pay all your attention to that. 

The styles of his music are so special and some of them are very different. The one called ‘Nunchaku’ is the representation of his hip-hop songs. And he has a lot of lyric songs, like ‘Return To The Past Years’, ‘Black Humorous’, ‘You Can Hear’, ‘Blue And White Porcelain’ etc, they are so wonderful and famous, too. Jay breaks the old style of Chinese popular music circles and builds his own music world. I can’t account how many songs he has created and there were so many songs that he wrote for other singers.

Jay not only improves his music career but also participates in public welfare activities. After the earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province in China, he has donated more than 42,000,000 yuan. He is an idol that many people follow and he is the person who we can respect, too.

Now he is going a lot of places to hold his concerts. I hope I can go to his concert to listen to the music. I think Jay will be the best singer in the world and if I have child then I will take him to Jay’s concert and show who is my idol in the future.
