Weihai And Shanghai

My university is in Weihai, Shandong Province and the city is near the Yellow Sea. When I was sophomore, I tripped to Shanghai once. It is near a sea, too. The name of the sea is East China Sea. Although both of them is near by a sea, they also has a lot of difference of food, culture, public transportation, tourist attractions and night-life.

In Weihai, people often eat wheaten food like steamed bread, noodle, pie and so on. But Shanghai is the economy central of China, so it involved most kinds of food in China, including Guangdong food, Sichuan food and so on. Sometimes people in Shanghai like to eat some desserts. The main culture of Weihai is Rushan Drum and Yangge. Yangge is like some kind of dance, but it is more civilian. In Shanghai, the main culture is Haipai Culture. It is very special and it is so popular in Shanghai and the cities nearby. In Wehai, bus and taxi are the main public transportation. And in Shanghai, subway is the most important public transportation, bus too. If you want to feel the most modern city in China, I think you must go to Shanghai. And the history of Shanghai is about 2500 years, so you can see some traditional culture, too. If you want to have a wonderful seaside trip, you can go to Weihai. Because the beach is so clean and beautiful. And the air in Weihai is so fresh. But if you want to go to club to have a nice night, you should go to Shanghai. Because in Weihai, people go home so early. But in Shanghai, the city often seems like not sleeping.

I like both of the two cities. I am a senior now, and if I graduate I will have little chance to go to Weihai. But I think if I have some chances, I will go Weihai and Shanghai again to feel the different culture in China.
